CHRISTMAS FAIR – SATURDAY 26TH NOVEMBER 12-3PM
The countdown to our annual Christmas fair is now on!
It is our biggest school fundraiser and we really value your contributions and support.
We are currently accepting donations of gifts, toiletries and unwanted gifts including children’s items for the the tombola (all new condition please), as well as second hand books and toys.
And don’t forget our jam jar competition. Fill and decorate a jam jar with goodies such as mini toys, sweets and gifts and decorate in a festive fashion. The class that brings in the most jam jars before the Christmas fair will win a cash prize to be spent on something for their class only.
Later on there will be a non school uniform day in exchange for a bottle of drink for the adult tombola and a chance to donate cakes and international food items nearer the time.
Please feel free to contact us on with any queries and ideas.
ADVERTISING – For as little as £15 you can advertise your business in the Christmas fair brochure. Contact me on
VOLUNTEERING – The fair cannot operate without your support, so please consider giving up an hour or so of your time to help run a stall, serve some refreshments or help set up or tidy up the fair. Welcome to Cunningham Hill Junior School PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
There is an active PTA at the Junior School who put on events for fun and fundraising. In recent years we have held a regular Summer BBQ at school, a Christmas fair, Children’s Discos, Cake Sales, Book Sales, Quiz Nights, Fashion Shows, an Elvis night, Beer and cheese Tasting, Barn Dance, Car Boot Sales, inter school netball and football matches and many more fun events. Over £8,000 is raised on average by these events. We have helped to provide musical instruments, ICT equipment in the shape of laptops and whiteboards, a wildlife garden with its own pond, put money towards an extension to the main building, and regularly contribute towards items that are not normally within the school budget.
The Annual General Meeting is held early in the Spring Term when a new Committee is elected – this will meet a few times a term to plan events. These meetings are open to all parents and staff who would like to come.
Dates and agendas of meetings and minutes of the last meeting are posted on the school web-site. Copies of the PTA Statement of Accounts and the Constitution are available to any parent on request from the school.
Our emphasis is on having fun whilst providing a broad range of activities for everyone and raising much needed funds for the benefit of all our children. The PTA is a registered charity. If you would like to know more or have any suggestions of events that think would be fun the committee would love to hear from you. They can be contacted by leaving a message at the school office.
